I let out a very audible squeal and my heart started racing when the latest ‘twenty-seven names’ lookbook arrived in my inbox. Titled “9 Lives”, it’s as if someone peered into my mind and created my dream capsule wardrobe. It has everything: feminine pleating, relaxed tailoring, collar and ruffle details and OH DID I MENTION THE CAT PRINT? Just Look At Those Socks!

Everyone who knows me knows about my not-so-secret obsession with cats, and when you combine that with this collection of oh-so-London-inspired-cool, quirky mix of tomboy meets girly-girl, in my fave shades and silhouettes, words are (literally) failing me.

Once I recover from my minor heart attack, I’ll start a countdown as to when I can own it all (or at least some of it).

Thanks to the wonderful Phoebe at Lady Melbourne, I was invited to Nuffnang’s Fashionopolis, an event which brought together 150 local fashion bloggers to network and hear from a variety of key speakers, who discussed the changing landscape of fashion and digital media.

It was so enjoyable to catch up with a few of my favourite blogging friends and also finally get to meet some girls who I have known for years online, but never had the opportunity to actually meet until now. I also had no idea that there were so many fashion bloggers in Melbourne, it really is booming at the moment. As with all blogger-related events, there were plenty of cameras, photo moments and deliciously eye-pleasing treats.

Topics discussed throughout the day ranged from being your own brand, simple marketing tips and tricks, monetizing your blog and the relationship bloggers can have with brands and PR agencies. If anything, the discussions were insightful and interesting for both bloggers just starting out, to the more established ones.

Thank you Nuffnang for a great day and interstate girlies – please come back to visit soon!

A pretty casual and comfy outfit – definitely how I spend most days. I popped into Bardot the other day and was really impressed by their winter coat range. When I found that it was 50% off all jackets, I couldn’t help myself and bought both this black one with leather trimmings, and a more feminine double-breasted wool style in a light cream colour. Coat bliss and perfect for this brutally cold weather we’ve been experienced in waves here lately.

I am looking forward to the Nuffnang Fashionpolis blogging conference tomorrow, and I hope I get to catch up with some of my favourite blogging friends and also meet a few new faces. Please come and say hello if you’re attending too, it should be a great day!

There’s no better situation for paring back your wardrobe and getting to know your own style than when you’re attempting to pack a suitcase. With my European adventure beginning to loom near, I have been trying to piece together my ideal capsule wardrobe. I’m limiting myself to one pair of everyday boots, one pair of going out heels, one oversized tote bag, one small clutch, one going out dress, etc. No easy feat for someone who can’t even decide what to wear a single day in advance.

Trying to estimate what temperatures in three different countries will be like is almost impossible, so it’s vital to include layering pieces. The most important thing? Everything has to match! This wishlist sort of encapsulates the fluidity and streamlined approach I’d like to take, with just enough trendy bits to keep it fresh. Plus, I have to leave plenty of room in my suitcase for the shopping that I definitely intend on doing! I think I’ll put together a “carry on luggage” wishlist next, as this one was actually really fun.

With my boyfriend (and trusty photographer) currently overseas having a surfing holiday, outfit posts have been a little difficult to manage lately. However, I couldn’t wait to share with you the goodies I recently received c/o Gingerbread Shop, an adorable Melbourne-based online boutique that specialises in quirky, hand-picked delights from around the world – so I hope these dodgy self-timer pics do them justice!

I was besotted the moment I laid my eyes on this white cropped blazer and swirl-collared blouse. They add the perfect amount of being “dressed up” to a look and are easy to pair with both wide-legged pants like these for more special occasions, or just skinny jeans and ankle boots for day-to-day. I have already found a million and one ways to wear the blouse, so it seems it was the missing ingredient in my wardrobe.

Also, why is there a random shell on the window ledge behind me? I have no idea.

Be sure to check out Gingerbread Shop next time you feel like treating yourself – and have a look at their gorgeous lookbooks too, a photography feast for the eyes.

I am so excited to share with you “Melbourne, Mossman & Me” – a special project I was recently asked to be a part of with Melbourne label-to-watch Mossman Clothing. 9 local bloggers (including myself) were asked to style a Mossman piece from their ‘Neon Nemesis‘ collection and be photographed by the talented Sureka (aka. The Girl Can Shoot) in our favourite place in Melbourne.

When I spotted this eye-popping sheer silk shirt in bright magenta, I knew this was the piece for me. Styled against a sea of black, I knew it needed to be photographed somewhere light-filled and spacious and immediately, one of my favourite galleries in Flinders Lane came to mind.

A big thank you to Sureka for her patience shooting me and Sarcha at Mossman for this opportunity. I look forward to getting to know more of the other bloggers involved! Check out the project in its entirety here.

Gosh I love shiny new things and these boots from Nasty Gal definitely make me happy. When I first slipped them on I thought the heel might be a bit too high for everyday wear, but three days later, I have barely taken them off. I was looking for the perfect pair of everyday boots for my upcoming overseas trip and it looks like I’ve finally found my winners. My shoe addiction lives yet another day.

This is my quintessential weekend comfort wear – which often trickles over into the weekdays too, when it’s cold and I’m feeling kind of slobbish (which is usually 7 days of the week). Since my job involves sitting at a computer for the most part, comfort is absolutely key.

I got my mum to whip these velvet leggings up several years ago and I only recently re-discovered them sitting in the back of my wardrobe. This Mossman knit has also proved itself to be quite the style saviour, as it’s warm and soft – but gives the illusion of being dressier than it is with its’ metallic sheen. I had the pleasure of shooting with Mossman over the weekend, for a special little collaboration, but more on that shortly.

Hope you all have a wonderful week ahead – happy Monday! x
